We are proud to be part of the strong, caring community of the Northern Rivers. Environmental conservation is fundamental to so many of us in this region and we know that our community will be the key to our success.
NRWH will establish a volunteer program so that our community can help us to care for our native wildlife. Volunteering opportunities will cover most aspects of the daily operation of our facility.
NRWH will work collaboratively with Universities, TAFE, schools and community groups to educate people on the local fauna and the environment. This will include raising awareness of the impact of human activity on wildlife. NRWH intends to support training of veterinarians, vet nurses and wildlife carers to increase their skill set in dealing with wildlife care and treatment.
